Write a commentOn Wednesday, October 8, Fidir Financial Group celebrated the completion of renovations to their new Mexico office with a ribbon-cutting coordinated by iHeart Oswego.
The Fidir Financial Group includes eight financial advisors with offices in Albany, Syracuse, Mexico, and Endicott. The advisors operate under the Equitable Advisors umbrella, with an approach focused on lifelong client relationships.
The Mexico office is managed by Steve Wisniewski, ChFC, CRPC, CRES Financial Advisor. Steve has been in the business of financial advising for 15 years, with experience at AXA Advisors and then Equitable Advisors. In 2023, he decided to become a formative partner at Fidir Financial Group.
With that, came the decision on where to put down roots. “My wife and I wanted more land than we had, so we decided to look at Mexico,” he told iHeart Oswego. After making the jump to living in Mexico, it was only natural that the business followed. With two teenagers in the Mexico school district, he and his wife Jennifer are kept busy with the kids’ packed athletic schedules. “The 36 mile drive each day to the office was just too much on top of that,” Wisniewski said.
But the purchase of the office in 2023 wasn’t the end of the story. Steve and his brother committed to a full renovation, gutting the aging home and renovating it to make a cozy, smart business location that adds to the charm and function of Mexico’s Main Street.
Steve is President of the Mexico Chamber of Commerce and as such, is always encouraging people to shop local and get more involved in the community. The office hands out candy every Halloween night and is looking ahead to support community events like Christmas in Mexico.
In attendance at the day’s ribbon cutting were: Scott Lacik of the Cicero-Plank Road Chamber of Commerce, Village of Mexico Trustee and Greater Mexico Chamber of Commerce Board Member Jim Hotchkiss, Mexico Chamber Vice President and Village Revitalization Committee member Amy Shaw, support staff, and family.
