Oswego County Workforce New York announces its partnership with CiTi BOCES to offer residents free training in manufacturing this summer.

Interested participants can learn more about this opportunity at one of three public information sessions planned in July. Each event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, July 8, 15 and 22 at Citi BOCES, 179 Co. Rte. 64, Mexico. Attendees can tour the facility, meet program staff and explore the courses and credentials to find one that is the right fit for them.

The four-week Summer Manufacturing Training Program begins on Monday, Aug. 4 and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. three days per week at the Citi BOCES Mexico Campus.

This no-cost training initiative is designed for adult learners interested in entering the manufacturing field, with starting wages at $20.25 per hour and access to full-time employment with benefits. Prior experience is not required.

Participants accepted into the program will be enrolled in a tuition-free micro-credential course that provides hands-on training in high demand manufacturing skills. The three micro-credential course options are: Fanuc Robotics Operation Level 1, Intro to Hand Tools and Blueprint Design, and Intro to Mechanical Assembly.

In addition to technical training, students will receive resume and interview preparation, earn the National Career Readiness Credential through ACT WorkKeys and be given the opportunity to interview directly with local manufacturers who are actively hiring.

This summer program is made possible through the collaboration between CiTi BOCES and Oswego County Workforce New York, with a shared goal of preparing residents for high-quality careers in the local manufacturing sector.

Interested individuals are encouraged to call 315-963-4359 to learn more or apply. For more information, visit https://www.citiboces.org/cmasummer.
