Starting on Black Friday, Maurices, located on State Route 104 in Oswego, is collecting slipper socks to donate to Hospice of Central New York.
The drive continues through December 25; store manager Elissa Bliss told iHeart Oswego they are hoping to collect at least 50 pair to donate. Though Bliss hopes to collect far more than 50, she based the goal on past jean donation drives that they have conducted to support OCO.
“Starting Friday, all of our slipper socks will go to $3 in the store,” Bliss said. “We’re happy to accept donations of slipper socks purchased with us or that have been brought in by the community.”
The decision to support Hospice of CNY was made by the local team after a lengthy discussion. “We as a team feel like the elderly are sometimes overlooked in the holiday gift-giving season… we want to make them feel seen and loved this year too,” Bliss told our team.
iHeart Oswego is happy to see this effort to support some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
