
The Oswego State women's swimming and diving team was led by an individual's second-place finish on day two of the SUNYAC Championships at Erie Community College's Burt Flickinger Athletic Center. With 126 points over the two days, the Lakers sit in seventh place.
Oswego's 200-yard medley relay opened the day with 24 points, claiming seventh place. The team of Natalie Brophy, Maya Kaplan, Sabia Filiaci and Emily Doe completed the event in a time of 1:50.82.
Filiaci was just getting started as the senior captured a second-place finish in event 17, the 100-yard butterfly. Missing first place by just .70, Filiaci gave the Lakers 17 points towards the team score.
Brophy continued the point collecting in event 23. She touched the wall in 1:04.04 in the 100-yard backstroke, tallying five points to Oswego's cumulative score.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Emily Burton, Kaylin Luhrs, Aran Kilcoyne and Emily Karszes joined together to nab seventh place and 24 team points.
On the diving board, Kathryn McKinney rang up the Lakers final four points of the day, scoring 271.65 in the 1-meter.
The league championship meet will resume at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
