Bigfoot Sighting at 114 Reserve!

BIGfest 2026 was held at 114 Reserve in Fulton, NY. There, believers and skeptics attended a day filled with tales of sightings, hard evidence and renowned experts.

They brought Bigfoot out of the woods and into 114's cozy environment. Vendors offered a variety of Bigfoot inspired, or adjacent, goods.

Brad Gibson, wildlife ecologist and BIGfest organizer, caught up with me after the event. "I was very pleased with the turnout," Gibson said. "230 people over the course of the event was beyond my expectations."

The event quickly became standing room only as patrons filled the cafe. A few patrons spoke with me during the event, choosing not to be identified. One said, "It's a fantastic event. It's nice to see this community be given such a significant platform."

There were a variety of acts throughout the afternoon. Speakers included Tracy DeCann with The Oswego Paranormal Research Society (T.O.P.R.S.), Derek Markle, The Vogel Brothers with the Cobble Mountain Critter Project as well as Todd Smith with the Genesee Bigfoot Project. Later on, Oswego's Own Improv, a comedy troupe from SUNY Oswego graced the stage with their unique style and Bigfoot themed comedy to keep the audience in stitches.

The closing act was a one-act play entitled, I Found Bigfoot and All I Got Was This Lousy Shirt, written and directed by Shy Sims. The actors were engaging, energetic and endearing. The perfect ending to a great day of Bigfoot.

Brad Gibson is already looking to the future. "I think BIGfest 2027 is definitely in the cards. I like the idea of having the lore of Bigfoot presented in a variety of mediums."

There was a palpable buzz inside 114 Reserve and it wasn't just the coffee. "The Bigfoot community is knowledgeable and welcoming, and the Fulton community was extremely supportive," Gibson continued. "114 Reserve proved to be the perfect venue for bringing everyone together."

If anything is certain after Saturday's BIGfest, it's that we'll be seeing a lot more of Bigfoot in the future.
