On Tuesday night, the Sunrise and Noon Rotary Clubs of Fulton held a friendly competition at the CNY Community Arts Center.
The goal was to support the Oswego County Diaper Bank with donations of diapers. The diaper bank is part of the Early Childhood Alliance and is coordinated by Brandy Koproski of Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County. Families in need receive 50 diapers per child 5 and under, per month to help offset the cost of diapering and support the health of our community’s children.
The donation drive was paired with a trivia night and pot luck. For trivia, teams were randomly assigned by combining Sunrise and Noon members, encouraging Rotarians from both clubs to get to know each other.
The rousing evening was a smash hit with gags like “the dirty diaper award” and “smartest nut” trophies; there was great attendance and participation from both clubs. More importantly, the event also collected 3,591 diapers for the community. Fulton Sunrise Rotary donated 1,501 diapers while Fulton Noon Rotary donated 2,090 diapers. The diapers were picked up by representatives from the Early Childhood Alliance on Thursday’s meeting of the Fulton Noon Rotary at Tavern on the Lock.
