A Christmas card exchange was a bit unique for the Charles E. Riley Elementary School.

The Oswego High School Health Office staff coordinated a holiday giving drive to assist their students.
Frederick Leighton Elementary School Student Council sponsored a card making table at the Home and School Gift Giving Workshop. The cards were donated to Morningstar Residential Care Center residents and were officially presented to Morningstar Nursing Home representative Sharon Kirk. Proudly holding just a few of the cards that were made are, in front, Ella Shambo, Kyle Familo, Emily Eastman, Melissa Chun and Lara Kanbur; in back, are Dakota Brown, Alyssa Cheely, Jillian Dowdle, Sharon Kirk from Morningstart Nursing Home and John Alejandro.
Oswego City School District faculty and students along with an alum traveled around to the schools and Education Center to present a special tuba and baritone (mini tuba) concert. Keeghan McSweeney celebrated the season as the group played a variety of popular and traditional Christmas carols.
Robert Dumas is a new vocal teacher at the Oswego High School and has been working with the Chamber Singers for only a short period of time.
The Fitzhugh Park Elementary School "Care and Share" holiday effort received some assistance from the Oswego City School District Education Center staff and Board of Education members. Gathered with the gifts that were bound for Fitzhugh children and families are district employees Jo Ellen Smith, Michelle Carter and Karen Canale.
Compass Credit Union recently donated $2,500 to be split evenly between Fitzhugh Park, Leighton, Charles Riley and Kingsford Park Elementary Schools as well as the Middle School which will be used in the holiday assistance to families and students in need. All of the schools are part of the "Bank at School" program.
This is the first year the Oswego Middle School (OMS) has participated in the program and the "tellers," Laura Bornheimer, Jordyn Sanders and Mary Bornheimer, accepted the check. Also on hand were Home and School President Jeff Wallace, Compass Credit Union marketing administrator Jackie Wiegand, OMS Principal Mary Beth Fierro and "In School Banking" advisor Kenn Kern.
The boys modified "White" team played its final home game of the year, beating Baldwinsville 56-45.
Two more victories came for the Oswego modified blue volleyball team with wins over Baldwinsville and Central Square.
