Audiences are invited to a sneak peak of an animated feature created by local artists on Tuesday, March 10th (7:30pm) at the CNY Arts Center in Fulton.
The animation, titled "Gentile's Mythology", has been handcrafted by a wide variety of community creatives, including but not limited to: animators, actors, painters, poets, musicians, craftspeople, computer programmers, and sculptors.
"No doubt will regret consume your every waking thought for weeks, if not months, should you miss out on this absurdist comic romp," says writer/director Nicholas Gentile. "Tuesday night, you'll be treated to a special one-night-only sneak peak and a panel discussion that guarantees to be a captivating tell-all on the making of an animated movie."
A panel discussion will precede the sneak preview, featuring visual artists Maggie Henry and Jessica Enwright, as well as composer Sarah Galvin.
"When Nick asks you to collaborate, it's usually some wild and crazy creative thing you would regret not being part of," says panelist Maggie Henry. "So many awesome people are involved in the animation, the sound, music and voice acting... it's a kaleidoscopic barrage of talented people!"
In addition to regional artists, international collaborators and professional animators have also loaned their talents to the production, showcasing members of our community alongside industry veterans. Max Landman, whose work was last seen in over eighty AMC and Regal Cinemas across the country as part of Mike and Spike's Festival of Animation, will also be on hand to provide commentary.
"Members of the public are invited to be part of the movie too!" says Gentile. "We'll have supplies handy for you to create your very own drawing for the opening title sequence. No artistic experience necessary."
Reservations are strongly recommended (at www.tinyurl.com/cnypanel) and this event is free to the public, courtesy of a New York State GRACE Grant from CNY Arts, Inc. The event will be held on the MainStage of the CNY Arts Center at 121 Cayuga Street, Fulton, NY 13069.
