Newly elected Oswego County Legislator of the 15th District, Lee Walker Jr is stepping up in a big way to help the local community.
On Sunday, December 14th, from 2-4pm at Vona’s parking lot, Lee Walker Jr alongside friends and family will be handing out 200 bags of free groceries to those in need as the holiday season rapidly approaches.
“I’ve seen and heard people’s struggles first hand and I want to help give to the local community that I was born and raised in.” Walker said.
“I want to thank Wal-Mart for taking such a large order and making this happen. I want to thank Raby’s for supplying me with a truck and a driver to transport to food and I want to thank Vona’s Resturant for the use of their parking lot on Sunday. All in all, we have 200 bags of groceries to hand out to those in need.” Walker said. Walker also thanked Price Chopper for their support as well.
These groceries were paid for by Lee Walker Jr and his immediate family. “I’m proud to say to I was born and raised in The City of Oswego, and I’m grateful to be able to help give back to my community.”
